Central Oregon Accountable Care Organization (ACO)
In January 2018, COIPA and St. Charles Health System launched the Central Oregon Accountable Care Organization (ACO) to improve quality of care and cost efficiency for Medicare beneficiaries in Central Oregon. The ACO’s three-year contract with the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) will cover over 11,000 traditional fee-for-service Medicare subscribers under a Track 1 Shared Savings Program. In addition to St. Charles Medical Group, the founding members of the ACO includes 6 COIPA members: Cascade Internal Medicine, Central Oregon Family Medicine, Fall Creek Internal Medicine, La Pine Community Health, Madras Medical Group, and Mosaic Medical.
Coordinated Care Organizations (CCO)
Coordinated Care Organizations, or CCOs, were created by the Oregon Legislature in 2012 to serve Medicaid beneficiaries under the Oregon Health Plan. COIPA works closely with the Central Oregon and the Columbia Gorge CCO (both managed by PacificSource Community Solutions) on a wide range of managed care contracts, population health, and quality improvement initiatives.

Community Collaborations and Member Representation
Our large service area and diverse membership bring together a unique community of provider, payer, and government organizations. By participating in multiple state and regional workgroups, leadership boards, and collaboratives, COIPA represents, informs, and advocates for our members on a wide range of topics including health policy, payment reform, regional health information technology strategy, and a wide range of clinical quality improvement and population health initiatives.

Practice Resources and Education
In addition to workshops and webinars given throughout the year by COIPA staff and guest presenters, members also have unlimited access to online resources, education programs, special group purchasing offers, and discounts for national and regional conferences through America’s Physician Group, formerly CAPG.
